Dr. Shivappa Arivu
Dr. Shivappa Arivu has published numerous articles in daily newspapers and periodicals. He has authored around 30 works in Kannada and English, including Samagra Karnataka Charitre, Darshanika Darshana, Buddhaguruina Shishyaru, Jivada Kaavu, Shoonya Mahime, Mysore and Srirangapattana Parichaya, Itihasa–1, Itihasa–2, Prachina Bharata Itihasa, Mulabagilu Taluk Charitre mattu Samskruti, Bharatada Aitihasika Sthalagalu, Nelada Kanasu: Kolar District Needs, Kalada Kaihididu, Arivu Haadugalu, 21ne Shatamana: Hindu Samajadallina Asprushya Aacharnegalu, History and Tourism in India, Indian History, Mysore and Srirangapattana, and several others.
Deeply committed to social reform, he has been actively working since 2014 to eradicate untouchability through initiatives such as Griha Pravesha (house-entry), temple entry programmes, community meals (sahabhojana), “Equality Tea,” oath-taking ceremonies for students, and the ‘One Water–One Well’ movement. He has also facilitated remarriage support for widows and divorcees.
The Vijaya Karnataka daily recognised him as “Person of the Year” (2014) and “New Freedom Fighter” (2015). In 2024, he received the Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Award. His social initiatives have been featured as “Public Hero” on Public TV and under the programme “Hosabelaku” on Raj TV. His book Samagra Karnataka Charitre received the Adviser State Award.
Through the Arivu Bharata YouTube channel, he has published over 300 video documentaries, documenting rural India’s history, art, agriculture, industries, and traditional skills.
